Being in Victoria, B.C. on the day after Christmas this year, I woke up craving a serious breakfast. I could have eaten leftovers in the hotel room or grabbed a bagel or scone at a coffee shop, but I was looking for a SERIOUS breakfast. Something tremendous. So we decided to walk around until we found the perfect place. One thing I'll tell you, Canadians take their holidays a lot more serious than a lot of people here in the States. Why? Because there were many businesses closed for a SOLID WEEK after Christmas. On one hand I was surprised because of how busy that entire downtown area was with shoppers and so many shops were closed. Aren't these business owners worried about missing all these sales? Apparently they care more about spending time with their loved ones and I think that's a lesson we can all learn from them. Chinese food is like pizza. Most of it is average but still satisfying, unless it is particularly fantastic or particularly nauseating (although, in both cases they can be at the time fantastic and later nauseating, especially if you have a tendency to eat it in the quantities that I do).  But in my opinion, the biggest difference is if you find yourself craving it on Jesus� birthday, you�re SOL with pizza unless it was previously cold. We're kicking off the new year by having each of us write a review of a Chinese restaurant in our areas! We realized that for many, getting a ton of Chinese food and staying at home has replaced going out to bars and dodging drunk drivers on New Years Eve. So we thought we'd each try a different spot in a different state and report back! Quite recently I was disturbed to see a review for a hoity-toity, highfalutin, what-in-tarnation-the-dang-heck-is-this vegetarian bistro on our site. I could barely bring myself to read it, afraid that some kind of traumatic brain injury had suddenly afflicted Josh that would only become more apparent as I read on. I'll start this review by saying, I didn't always like guacamole. Hell, I straight up didn't like it at all. To me it looked like something someone might barf up if they were possessed by a demon. I tried it a few times here and there but just couldn't get into it. Then some shift in my taste buds happen and now I want to eat Guac seven days a week and twice on Sunday. So when I saw that the elusive McDonald's Guacamole burger was available in my area, I decided to give it a whirl.   But when I walked into McDonald's I was faced with a choice. Burger? When I first rolled up in Seattle I was getting bombarded with places that I needed to try. Every day I would get emails asking, "HAVE YOU TRIED THIS PLACE?" or "THE ONE PLACE YOU NEED TO GO IS HERE!" So I made a list. It's a long list. Long as hell. But one place stood out, that I might have gotten more inquiries about than any other.  This place was Ezell's Famous Chicken! For those of you who don't know, apparently it is Oprah's favorite chicken place and she likes it so much that she has it flown in to her across the country in Chicago!
