DADDY'S BONETOWN BURGERS FOOD TRUCK - BOSTON, MA

Image
Who doesnt love a good old fashioned annual craft fair? Its one of the only chances you get in life to stock up on homemade pot holders, amateur watercolor paintings, and jewelry made of rocks wrapped in sterling silver- all at the same time! Time to clear out your bank account! Then theres always the fun game of trying to avoid eye contact with all the handmade clothing vendors peddling what looks like stitched together scraps of discount fabric from Joannes. So after youve walked the four or five aisles of homemade soap and windchimes, you may start to wonder why you didnt just spend your Saturday morning at home watching cartoons instead of early Christmas shopping for your weird aunt. But then you smell something delicious and suddenly going to the local craft fair was the best decision you made all week. not exactly what i was expecting My lack of regret came courtesy of Daddy's Bonetown Burgers food truck. There was a block of trucks lined up, so I decided to make my pic

Mango Salsa Madness! NEW Mango Salsa at Q'Doba

Image
Fresh off the heels of Rich's Q'Doba Grand Event , the up and coming kings of fast food burritos added a little something extra to their menu.  I headed to my local Q'Doba and decided to see what this Mango Salsa uproar was all about.   Since it's Mango Everything Season, I decided to go big with a steak burrito with, no beans, fajitas, white rice, cheese, guac, sour cream (well kinda, Q'doba likes to play coy with it's sour cream portions), tomato salsa, and the reason for my visit, the new Mango Salsa. True to form, these burritos are massive, and exactly the right amount of food you want to stuff yourself with. I didn't get any of their world famous queso, which is a usual staple of a Q'Doba burrito, but today, we were here to let the mango do what it do! When the burrito artist (can we call them that?) was putting together the tortilla rolled masterpiece, I noticed a shockingly small amount of mango salsa was added to the roll. I get it, I'm sure

FROZEN HOAGIES SWEET SHOP

FROZEN HOAGIES  SWEET SHOP in Somerville, MA This is a place i've been dying to get to since I heard about it. I mean, they make their own ice-cream cookie sandwiches! Amongst my memories of high school, the ones that haven't been necessarily repressed, are Chip-whiches. Two soft chocolate chip cookies clamped down on either side of a vanilla ice cream patty. This was my treat of choice quite often. I've had decent ones at restaurants in the years since, but a place where that's their SPECIALITY? We'll see. So the deal is: you choose your cookies, and you choose your 2 scoops of ice cream, and they slap it all together for you. They had about 5 or 6 cookies on hand to choose from (not as impressive as the over-all list on the website). No matter, I want to keep it relatively traditional for the first go. I decided on a chocolate chip cookie and a brownie cookie. Next best thing to a chip-wich is a brownie sunday, no way could this turn out bad. For ice cream I went
